Nestled in the heart of Vienna, the school prides itself on its innovative programs, passionate educators, and strong partnerships with families and the local community. With a focus on nurturing curiosity and a love for learning, Marshall Road Elementary empowers students to become confident, compassionate, and well-rounded individuals.

Strong Minds, Strong Bodies, and Strong Hearts

We have a long-standing tradition of focusing on kindness and inclusion. Our students speak 48 different home languages, hail from across the U.S. and the world, and have a range of abilities and needs. As a member of the Madison Pyramid, our One Campaign emphasizes "You Belong Here." Inclusion and belonging are vital parts of school culture in our pyramid!

Activities for Every Interest

We have a multitude of student activities, including Fitness Warriors, Odyssey of the Mind, our student-produced weekly TV news program (Roadrunner Report School News Show), Strategy Games, Spanish Club, Minecraft Club, and more!

STEAM Lab

The Marshall Road Elementary School STEAM Lab helps our students get excited for and learn more about science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. 

Strong School-Family Connections

We have a number of PTA events for families to connect with and support our school, including our annual PTA Runathon. On most Tuesdays, our PTA also organizes students and families walking or biking to school through our Bike Train/Bike/Walk/Run to Breakfast. It's a great way to promote physical exercise and decrease road congestion!.

Annual Musical

Each year, 5th and 6th grade students at Marshall Road Elementary School have the opportunity to shine on stage by rehearsing and then performing a junior musical to our school, families, and wider community. 

Giving Back

Students learn the value of supporting our community by collecting food donations and unopened school meals to donate to Food for Others. We also partner with other schools in FCPS to provide clothes and food for food banks.

Welcoming New Students and Families

Our multilingual student ambassador program matches students with peers who speak the same language and new students are given an individualized welcome booklet. We also support families with resources on what to expect from schooling in the U.S. and ways to support learning at home.

Teaching Excellence

Marshall Road Elementary School and George Washington University are partners in professional development. Together, we train special education teachers to be skilled professionals in the field.

Green Team

We provide students with ways to learn about and care about our environment. Marshall Road Elementary School has been composting since 2023, and our food sharing program donates unopened food to area food banks. 

International Night

This is an annual event where families can share their important cultural traditions. There's delicious food, talented performances, and lots of school spiriti!
