How Students are Placed:
English language proficiency is determined by results of a World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) test. ELs are enrolled in age-appropriate grade level classes and have access to the same rigorous content and additional programs and services available to all FCPS students, including Advanced Academics and special services, to develop their English language proficiency skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. ESOL or Bridging services are offered according to the student’s English language proficiency (ELP) level.
